I am Audrius Grinys, an independent Odoo consultant and developer in Vilnius, Lithuania. I have worked with Odoo and company digitalisation since 2018, first in ERP sales and business development and, since 2020, independently. I help companies that already run Odoo with audits, stalled projects, custom modules, upgrades and AI automation, working remotely with teams across Europe in English.
What is my background?
My path to Odoo went through business operations, not only through code:
- 2018 to 2020, Odoo and ERP. Head of ERP sales at an IT company, then Odoo ERP business development manager. That is where I learned how Odoo projects are sold, scoped and where they go wrong.
- Since 2020, independent. Analysis, configuration, custom development, upgrades and support for companies running Odoo, from single-company firms to groups with several companies and currencies.
- 2012 to 2017, a national news portal. Sales manager, then head of the IT department, then chief operating officer of Alfa.lt, a Lithuanian national news portal.
- 2008 to 2017, my own company. I owned and ran a music business, which taught me what a small company needs from its systems and what it can afford.
- Teaching. I have lectured management students at Vilnius College (Vilniaus kolegija).
I hold an MBA from the Vilnius Academy of Arts (UNESCO chair programme, 2009 to 2011) and completed a software testing course in 2020 and 2021. In 2012 my team won first place at AppCamp, a Lithuanian mobile app competition, with an app that controlled door locks from a phone. I have also worked on digitalisation projects for state-owned companies.
Which industries and problems have I worked on?
Manufacturing, trade, medical, logistics and services, for private companies, international organisations and state-owned companies. Recent work includes:
- intercompany manufacturing between two companies of a machine-building group on Odoo 19 Enterprise, including a shop-floor terminal and an importer for CAD bills of materials;
- foreign-currency stock valuation, subcontracting stock locations and drawing links for a device manufacturer on Odoo 16 Enterprise;
- a multi-company, multi-currency service management module with customer portal approvals and consultant self-billing on Odoo 19 Enterprise, for an English-speaking group;
- an access rights management module and a tamper-evident audit trail module, maintained on several Odoo versions with automated tests.
How do I work?
Process before code
I first ask how the work is done today and what decision is missing. A surprising number of Odoo problems are solved by a setting or a decision, not by development.
Evidence over opinion
Findings point to records, logs or lines of code. If I am not sure, I say so and test it on a copy.
Copies, tests and backups
Nothing is changed on production first. Custom modules come with automated tests, a security check of access rules and a documented release step.
You keep the knowledge
Code in your repository, written documentation and an internal admin who understands the setup. My goal is that you can continue without me.
How do I use AI in my own work?
AI is not a new field for me but one more tool, used the same way as any other: with review. I use AI assistants to read large codebases faster, to draft tests and to run independent reviews of my own code, and I check every result before it reaches a client. Inside clients' Odoo systems I build AI automation with human approval, never unsupervised changes to accounting data.
Who is a good fit?
Companies in Europe that already use Odoo, have a person who can make decisions, and want a senior specialist who works directly with them. If you need a large team for many parallel workstreams, or you choose mainly on hourly rate, I am probably not the right choice, and I will tell you so in the first call.
How do we get in touch?

Frequently asked questions
Do you work alone or with a team?
You work with me directly: I do the analysis, the architecture, most of the development and the handover myself. For larger pieces of work I can bring in additional developers, but you always know who is involved and I stay responsible for the result and the code review.
Which industries have you worked in?
Manufacturing, trade, medical, logistics and services. Clients have included private companies, international organisations and state-owned companies. The Odoo problems repeat across industries more than people expect: stock valuation, multi-company rules, custom code and data quality.
Are you an Odoo employee?
No. I am independent and not employed by Odoo S.A. That is the point of the work: I can tell you honestly whether you need a new module, a different configuration or simply a decision, without a licence target behind the advice.
